Acoustic Autumn is Here

I seem to make playlists in seasons
– here's my autumnal one

Although I do love summer, fall is absolutely my favourite. I love digging back up my giant jumpers and the 'back-to-school' vibe that brings its routine and bursts in productivity. It's the season of scarves and sunglasses – my trademark by this point.

It's called Pumpkin Spice Latte (and I really hope someone will get uselessly mad at me for that). It's 11 hours and 11 minutes long, so it should last you the whole Sunday-on-the-sofa, or through an entire day at work. I hope you like it.

What It Sounds Like

I made this right around the time my friend, and singer/songwriter, Charlie Hole performed in my living room for 20 people (it's live streamed on Facebook if you want to check it out).

He's got this style of performing that while the songs could definitely be described as 'sad' there's also this brightness and good vibes and almost defiance to his style, almost as if he's saying like "yeah, things go horribly wrong sometimes and all of our hearts get broken and that sucks but you know what, we're okay though. and if nothing else, at least we're here to tell the story".

So I kinda wanted to capture that feeling of like hopeful melancholy, and somehow this image entered my mind of like this girl who's life is pretty good overall but she still sometimes get sad, but she also knows things are going to be fine – and to capture her essence, I figured when she's down she'd go to Starbucks and get herself a giant Pumpkin Spice Latte to brighten her day.

It's like the perfect playlist for when it's raining, and you almost secretly enjoy it, because it means you don't have to go outside and you can just curl up with your bf, or your book, or a huge blanket (why not all three!).

Some kind-hearted bot broke down the playlist by sounds and genres and artists. I do tend to slightly fiddle with my playlists, so there might be some inaccuracies there – but the general gist is the same.

Lots of songs you've probably already heard, and artists from different times and different genres and of different stages in their careers – but I hope they all capture this acoustic autumnal vibe of kinda sad but you kinda like it and it almost becomes a little ...indulgent. You know, kinda like a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
